The take homes from that article:
    • Buy shares (no need for research)
    • Don't buy for tax breaks

Invest good stocks in the long term. Don't worry about the noises. Don't over analyse. Accept the risks come with investing just as you accept the risks of accidents when driving. Enjoy the journey, the long drive into the sunset.

From Oliver's tips I like these oldies because they are also goodies. That is, invest for the long term and be aware that investment markets move in cycles
    Quote--
Favour simplicity over complexity. Complex investments favour the provider and leave the investor at a disadvantage.

Just follow those simple rules ,and don't watch the media off-spins and you will become a lazy investor...

    Favour simple over complex.

Become lazy - constantly look for ways that will reduce your workload and simplify your life.

Our family are huge bogleheads for this reason.

    And here is something incredible.

Q: How do I avoid capital gains tax?

    A: Don't sell your properties.

Very few funds managers outperform the market in the long term and maybe by doing nothing, you'll taking out the emotions out of your investing. This has been highlighted in quite a few investment books and magazines. Peter Thornhill covers this in his book and also can be seen in his videos on youtube.

Couple of weeks ago there was a lady through doing nothing for the last 40 years and reinvesting her dividends, eventually allowed her to grow her small initial investment to a multimillion dollar portfolio.

Reminds me of a funny story of this ex- colleague's husband who's worked in investment banking and claims that he was on top of all this. I judge actions and not words, and they've sold a house in Winston Hills for $650k before the boom (he thought properties were going to crash), sold shares prematurely (I know for a fact that some of the shares have gone up due to the colleague being a big mouth) and he is still working full time (probably not due to him wanting to do this but he must to pay for his enormous, pretentious lifestyle).

'There was a lady through doing nothing '
    She did something..
She bought shares and instructed them to re invest..
Only a lazy person would notice..
    Cheers
