Also on this forum many topics/posts have nothing to do with property, so we love being heard, sharing opinions our views

I've had over 50 clients tell me that they came from property chat, however I only know the avatars of about 5 people. When people call and they tell me where they came from I don't usually ask them what their online fake name is so I have no idea what they call themselves on here - and I don't need to know, it's not important.
Yes awesome prospecting tool - as was somersoft, but it's not the majority of our business,we use a range of different marketing techniques for business and achieve results with all of them.

    That's great.

I also know someone who has had awesome results from PC, this person does not want to know their clients user name on PC, prefers to keep it this way. Probably a good idea

Interactions with people who actually get property - not a blank face when I start talking, ask questions about things I don't know and get to know interesting people :)

I'd say yes to all of these except the traffic sales for PC (for me at least). It's probably changed over time as well. Initially it was about increasing knowledge and gaining ideas, but the networking/relationships/mentorship have become more important as my investing journey progresses.

I also use a particular forum for my source of football news, because I get all the same info I would from a news site, but usually quicker, plus I enjoy reading the opinions of our fans.

    .

We don't property talk with family or friends, no one gets too excited about it, not for everyone.

Yup, similar here. Began asking questions as a novice in 2003 on PC's predecessor and now enjoy sharing back some of my experiences, wins and losses.

Its been a good platform for business, but that's mostly because I had already established rapport with many. A few were glad when I opened doors.

Been on other forums from time to time too - related to other hobbies and such. Seems to be the best way to share with people of similar interests. PC is smaller than those, which has its pros and cons.

No it's not for everyone hence I usually doesn't talk much unless asked. The blank face also there when I had mention about offset (and why to consider if they move and rent the place out) and LVR in general. At one time I posted some display house pictures on FB (because I like looking at houses, not investment) And someone commented that I should read a blog by doom gloom guru

We might not be talking about the same football (soccer), but it's au.fourfourtwo.com/forums

FourFourTwo writes it's own articles, but I like that any good articles from other sources get posted by forum users as well. So you don't miss much.

Joined ss to learn and grow network of people to bounce ideas off.

From that I have made many friends, found a great broker and (dare I say) made a lot of money from investment.

More recently I have launched my BA business purely from an interest in helping others. My charges are well under market rate and I dont use the forums for shilling and blatant self promotion, the forums are better than that.

Lastly i use the forums and pay money to give back to Sim for all his hard work. The subscription is insignificant compared to money made from what I have learned over the years

I like the anecdotes you get from everyone's different experiences, because when you have a whole bunch of people saying similar things a pattern starts to form. I read comment sections a lot and notice the number of likes and the rebuttal comments and you can start to see public sentiment around certain ideas.

Joined Somersoft in August 2013 and have come across to PropertyChat like most others last year.
For me the forum has opened me up to different ways of thinking and has challenged my inclination to over analyse the whole property investment process.

At its core property investing is pretty simple, whilst we all may debate the different ideologies of how to get the best results that is half the fun of the forum..albeit heated at times!!

Also forum has been great to network with professionals as I have teamed up with a Broker,BA & SMSF Advisors from this site

The initial reason was to learn about real estate.

The reason these days is mostly about the friends I have on the site.

And I throw in my 2c about economics on occasion.
