Because it helps me make money !

Joined SS to learn about granny flats - it was a big thing in 2012/13.

Found a few people here that were worth listening to and following (also who to not follow). Proved very profitable through the Sydney boom - now hoping that Brisbane works out.

Because I made a very poor first choice of RE - didn't have the knowledge and quickly learned here where I went wrong and the reasons why..I did not repeat that mistake again :)

Did you buy?. My wife and I love it here and we bought an over size 1 bed in 2012. Easy access to the train and every now and then we might catch the train to the city and a few drinks at the Opera bar:cool:. This Saturday we're going to catch the train in and go to pancakes on the rocks and a few drinks somewhere. But really you never need to leave the area with all the cafes, gym, and woolworths supermarket.

Done really well, up over 300 still even with a little drop the last couple of months. Its paid for my deposit on my 3 IP's. I'm working with @Redom to scrap up another deposit for the next, but I'm going to be 3 or more months away. I have the cash to do it but the buffer is more important to me.

Agree with you re buffer mate. I did a really, really stupid thing once, I used a large chunk of my buffer and it stressed/pressured me for months! I vowed never again.

Yep bought a 2:2:2 unit in the Aero complex over Xmas of 08, when there was jack all there and you had to drive to Eastlakes town centre or Eastgardens Westfield for groceries.

Edit: how are train trip prices to the city? Used to be super expensive back when paper tickets were still the latest tech in fares.
