There are probably 6 teams with a reasonable chance. Brazil odds on but France have a brilliant young squad of players on the rise, and they have the best national anthem.:p La Marseillaise is spine tingling.:)

They had 3 goals scored against them by an Argentinean side which were well below par.they also only just beat Australia.i think they will be exposed by a very experienced Uruguayan team.

All true but the WC isn't won in the group stages, if you look back teams historically build on each performance. France might not be the finished product in terms of a team yet but individually they are the equal of Brazil. Their performance against Australia was admittedly poor but I think their ceiling is higher.

Uruguay are strong defensively and are definitely a chance but I think Cavani might have a calf strain. The partnership of Suarez and Cavani are world class.

Yes mate if Cavani doesn't play I doubt they will stand a chance.youre right though France looked very dangerous against Argentina.the one reason I lean towards Uruguay is because experience goes a long way when under pressure but certainly will be an interesting game.

Doubt France will win, they have some superstar and over paid players but have been to average, look at the Australia or Argentina matches ...have you seen Belgiums form... =] or probably Brazil

I haven't seen to much of Belgium's games or Brazil I just think after watching Uruguay last night I think they will be very hard to beat.their defence was absolutely relentless.it was probably one of the best defencesive efforts I've seen and the combination of saurez and cavani make them extremely dangerous but I guess we will see over the next couple of week.im looking forward to it!!

I'll be supporting Mexico, but I don't think they can beat Brazil to advance.

What about Russia? I can see them getting a bit further in this competition. Who knows what sort of influence Putin can have on such a respectable and honest organisation as FIFA.

Judging by how many big teams have already been knocked out (Germany, Spain, Argentina, Portugal), with some luck, I reckon Russia might seriously make it all the way. Of course France is a very serious contender this year. The quality of their players is starting to show after a very lackluster beginning against the ozzies.

Regardless, this has been a very interesting World Cup so far and I'm thoroughly enjoying the games.

    :)

It is good to see a bit of the changing of the guard. Have been loving it also. If not Russia I do like Croatia!
