I have several 1000's of CD'S ,plus a lot of old cassette's that are rare and where never taken onto the other platforms, plus old records most were purchased in boxes at the public trustee auctions in Brisbane for next too nothing ,and very sad to see most of the cd,s were still unopened in the boxes..

Looks like you are the only one still currently buying CDs. Bravo!

Still have hundreds of CD's but haven't bought any for a while .

My hobby is songwriting and I"m currently doing a mentoring program with a Nashville publisher . First thing we had to do for homework was listen to three spotify playlists , so after many years of resisting , I've signed up to Spotify .

Two weeks later I'm hooked .

I had been buying albums and some songs on itunes , but supposedly they''re planning on phasing out sales on itunes and it will be all subscription . Following the software model of moving from buying your software to paying an annual fee.

Until something else replaces it < i'll be using Spotify ( and my old CD's )

In the midst of decluttering and am very torn about what to do with our CD's. We don't really listen to them (or CDs) anymore :(

Mp3's, streaming, Youtube etc - that's been the mode for the last 10 years.

The only CDs I have is the collection of Michael Jackson, given to me on my 9th birthday.

The only other CD's (Blueray DVD's) I have are games for the PlayStation..
Can't sell used digital content, so I'll continue to buy the discs whilst they still offer them (and sell when I get over it).

I wasn't advocating getting rid of CDs. I've personally never spent much on CDs. I've never made buying too many CDs or DVDs a priority. Spending money on training, new to me car etc always a greater priority. I also get bored easily so prefer to borrow most things (library, "video" store etc).

I'd say only in the past 6 months did I start using my iPhone as the source of music / podcasts for my car. It had always been CDs until this point. This was because I realised my AUX port in the car actually worked. I thought it was broken. I did enjoy using CDs only for such a long time. It was great because no one could put their own music on, like people tend to with phones and Spotify.

I used to give CDs to friends, lovely to see them wrapped nicely.
    What do I do now?:(
