Have been with Exetel ADSL 2+ for the last 6 months and really happy so far. $50 a month for unlimited local and national home line plus a decent data allowance.

Have noticed all telecom providers get terrible scores on product reviews, I think they are genuinely not liked!

Telstra cable with speed boost if running in your street will have you downloading at 112mbps and upload at 2.2mbps which beats any adsl plan in Australia for speed. This is best option for most when fibre is out of reach or budget.

I've been with Internode for a long time and don't intend to move. Excellent provider.

Telstra is the provider. Very painful to deal with, but the product is second to none behind fibre NBN.
Tethering off your 4G mobile phone is also a LOT faster than ADSL, however data is expensive comparatively so only viable if not downloading too much.

TPG is cheap, but you won't get more than around 20mbps download on ADSL2 even if you live next door to the exchange.

They're also destroyed online but Dodo have been excellent for the last 5 years I've been with them through 5 different addresses in 2 states.

Unlimited ADSL2+ for $60/m. And I'm downloading TB's 24/7 using a VPN and continually get good speeds. Tech support have solved every issue (usually to do with set up) and the last time it dropped out was about 3 years ago.

Another recommendation for TPG. Been with them for years, cheap and good.
