i would recommend getting a good banker on your team as opposed to a good bank. personally i use nab business bank and i have a great banker in there.

It really depends on what you want. Business banking is more than just a transaction account, it can involve EFTPOS facilities, overdrafts, all sorts of things.

My business needs are very simple. A dozen or so transactions a month, a credit card and the occassional cheque so just about any bank can make it work. What most businesses need to do is to take a more comprehensive look at their needs and interview several banks on that basis. Best to go in properly prepared.

We use ANZ at the moment. EFTPOS, overdraft, business loans - everything.

I used ANZ initially for my business but they were useless. Business partner had a previous relationship with Westpac (who are more business friendly - I just hold a grudge).

My business banking is through NAB.

NAB, found them cheap and with good service for very basic business needs

We are still forced to use bank cheques so for us it was not only proximity to our office but spread of branches throughout regional QLD where we could have people collect bank cheques from.

I use BOQ which is a traditional approach, no loans, just credit card, and busienss transactions which my branch take care of. Their reporting is *****, as is their netbank. I have just moved a couple of loans back to CBA so will look to go back there.

We do alot of client accounts (300+) with Macquarie which is very good. I have two other company accounts with Macquarie which is pain free from a transaction view point.

    Cheers Ivan

Keep it under your mattress, or bury it in the garden. Fight the institutions!

I use Westpac. They seem to have more capabilities when you are talking the volumes, facilities and breadth of services required for a large proprietary company. On a personal basis I can't stand using them due to the horrible service I received when I banked with them for a small not-for-profit. I've never used a bank that managed to lose so much important paperwork.
