    The smaller blocks are a more efficient use of land which is very necessary. I'd say you can go as low as say 350 or 400 sqm for outer suburbs. Anything less is a bit tight for a freestanding house.

    You want space for a car and a boat or caravan in the front and a trampoline or small pool in the back.

    The tiny lots in the inner city are bearable mainly because there is so much amenity on your doorstep - cafes, bars, restaurants, smaller shops, library, parks, transport options etc

    Many also have RLA so you don't lose frontage to a garage. Setbacks from the street are also minimal, so no wasted yards.
