Not sure, I would guess it is limited. I buy wholesale lots. The thread is for $1.2m to invest, so they qualify for wholesale lots.

Can’t give an actual time frame, we waited until there was confidence returning, and the market upswing established, then went back to less conservative options gradually, around 20% at a time. Our losses during the entire GFC event were around 3%.

    Fascinating thread.

I think you should have kept your money in VDCO.

    - You incurred at 0.38% sell spread by going to cash
    - Where will you keep the cash? Spread it across 5 banks so you are under to $250k deposit guarantee?
    - You will now pay tax on the interest you earn rather than reinvesting the fund distributions and not incurring a taxation event

    Good luck to you.

Fair point. But at least reinvestments are generally at slightly below the market rate

Hiya. I understand that. Not spread into banks. Put into the investing platform so it's ready for new opportunities. Watching and waiting for FA to start a move..

Have you considered purchasing a property or two with cash, and leave the rest to the FA? You could be using the rental income to reinvest and would work towards your return for retirement.

Got an investment property in Sydney already. Got a loan on hold to buy more property, just waiting for the right opportunity - eyeing off Perth.
