And most people's favourite book is The Da Vinci Code. I agree @MTR it's not ALL bad. I did meet and have a relationship with a nice lady that lasted several years from one. But meeting people naturally in the wild still seems to work best. Social skills fade with Internet making dating easy. But long gone are the days of riding your pushie to the phone box with a 20c piece to ring your teenage girlfriend a couple of suburbs away.

The meetup cycling group is ok, but I think the walking meetup group is possibly better if you wanted to find a partner. Lots of people you can just talk to while walking, whereas cycling you would only have the chance to talk to others properly while having the mid or post ride coffee break.

Doing a walking meetup might sound silly but then you realise you walk in very scenic and beautiful places, and so it's actually a great place to meet people.

The weekends away meetup group is also a good place to meet people. You can get to know people quite well if you want to. And weekends away may mean a lot of driving to go somewhere and it's typically best done carpooling... anyway you end up spending a full weekend somewhere unusual (I went to Lightning Ridge with the Sydney Weekends away meetup group) with people you didnt necessarily know before the trip! I still have the photos of that trip on my phone which I fondly look at and I am still good friends with the people from that trip.

Anyway, she can join in the activities of all the groups she has any interest in. And typically meetup groups dont charge anything to participate, which is a bonus.

Get her along to a property chat meet up. Just have her come with a couple of bodyguards to fend of the swarm of excited men who have read this topic.

Haha. Not at all. Its my niece who just won the national cheerleading championships with her team yesterday. I used to be able to do hands free cartwheels too when I was her age... I just have no photo proof of it though! It is an amazing feeling to be able to do that sort of thing... the centrifugal force... feels like freedom from gravity for a wee moment.

Anyway, here's a pic of the team.

I would not recommend trying to meet 29-36yo men at that sort of event. They are likely not either into the correct gender or age group

Ok, understood that anonymity in a public forum is a good thing...
I hope @Simon Hampel did not charge a transaction fee for the brokerage services to those couples :)

Haha I agree with the sentiment that going to Tinder to find love is like applying to be the Bachelorette! ;)

The opposite is also true. Which guy does not want Miranda Kerr, Gisele Bundchen types...
This creates the oft quoted complaint ' it's so hard to meet decent people. ' type lines.. Yeah as if the only decent people are brad Pitt or Jennifer Hawkins.

My answer would be unless she has asked you to meddle in her personal affairs and set her up for dates, stay out of her personal life; she'll find her own way there.

Less risk of you setting her up with someone you won't like or you being blamed for her getting caught up with someone she eventually hates.

    There's your problem right there.

There is a reason I don't ride bikes on the road. MTB FTW!

It's those trees you have to watch out for then - they have a habit of jumping out and hitting you too!

As mentioned - there have been at least four "Somersoft marriages" (no PropertyChat ones that I'm aware of yet - but we've only been around 4 months so far!).

There's at least two "Somersoft kids" as well (kids born to people who met through the Somersoft forums).

We really are a nice bunch of people - smart, motivated, and most of us do pretty well financially too.
