    Hi all,

Anyone know where I can buy a printed map of Australia containing all of the suburbs and easy to read?

Something I can hang up on a wall - I've looked around and most of them only cover generic regions and townships, not down to suburb level.

    Thank you.

You might need to do each capital city separately? I used to have one like this - very handy to research suburbs and stick post it notes of property values on it to gauge good value suburbs. Perth UBD 662 Map 690 x 1000mm Laminated Wall Map

The people who print street directories eg Gregory’s can do it. I rang one once for a full map of Sydney metro streets. They even tell you the size of the map - mine was humongous. Cost about $150 at the time. Probably cheaper now with the technology we got.

I don't think you'd have a wall big enough. At best you could get a map of all the metropolitan areas of all the capital cities but you will struggle to find what you need at an australia level.

Hema make great maps. I know they do some which are Australia but I think the scale is still going to be hard to easily read suburbs - this is their largest Australia Mega Map - 1660x1455 - Laminated

They do have region wall maps that might be more suitable if you are more into the populous/metro areas

UBD still prints street directories if you require detail.

Straya is a big place so at best you might find a capital city map with suburbs, a whole state with major towns, country with capital & regional cities but nothing with all of the detail you're after on one map.

We even had a Map from JLL for Newcastle, Sydney & Wollongong - suburbs change so quickly on the fringes the map would be outdated before the ink was dry.

Thanks mate - yeah this is exactly what I'd like to use it for. You might be right about that, as it can potentially be difficult to read thousands of individual suburbs in a single national map . However having 8 separate maps could also be a hassle to look at, so I'm trying to find best way.

I thought RACV is only for Melb? We have an equivalent called NRMA here in Sydney.

That occurred to me 2 hours later. I bought a couple of large maps in Melbourne at the RACV shop a few years ago. I imagine each state would have their equivalent.

Hi there - after doing some research I've figured it will be too hard to get a whole suburb map of Australia in a single map. The fact that cities are densely populated with suburbs and the fact that regions are so far away from cities makes the ability to write all the suburbs on one map really hard due to the distance and ratios. The only way to do it would be to have an absolutely massive wall.

So I've decided to go for a state map, starting with NSW where I reside - this one from Mapworld looks good, and it has 1 side showing all key regional towns at a higher level, while the other side shows everything within 75km of Sydney radius at a suburb level - Buy New South Wales UBD Laminated Wall Map - Mapworld.

For anyone who's bought this type of 2-sided map - if I hang it up on the wall, is there a way to flip it easily to see the other side without taking it off the wall which will be a hassle.

Install a wooden arm (or even a panel) on a ‘parliament’ type hinge and attach it to the wall.

The map can be attached to the arm and sit against the wall but also be swung out like a door so you can see the other side of the map.

Use it as a room divider, no need to flip it.

Aesthetically, the whole Australian map looks nicer.

How about digital wall? You can even make it touch screen so you can zoom in etc.

All printed maps are incorrect. They are outdated before its printed. and contain deliberate copyright traps that stop people copying them. Every page has 2-3. Postcodes and boundaries change from time to time too. You can even measure its boundaries on google maps.

There are specialised mapping companies that produce suburb maps that are used for delivery software eg https://profile.id.com.au/s_australia/suburb-map where they integrate data into the map too. The big city is as fine as the free access gets.

    Google does a basic job
