    Hi,
Looking at paving 40 m2 for my carport/driveway (over existing concrete).
Any recommendations for a good place to buy pavers of mid-range quality & price in Sydney?
(around North Shore but willing to travel if worth it). I'm told Ambers are the most expensive.
Bunnings has only limited choice - I'm after simple, brick style pavers.

Also, any feedback on the range of price per sqm for laying down pavers by professional?
I understand there are 2 options - on sand only or cement base. The latter is better and more expensive. I have been quoted $100 per sqm.

    Cheers.

I would also check out Gumtree as there is usually a lot of paver type listings on there

I know. It was cheaper for me to hire a truck and get our tiles for the build from there than anything comparative that was local to us.

How competitive are TFO on price?

I've got a number of reno's and new build's in progress/upcoming so i'm looking at stocking up on tiles.

I found them by far the cheapest but did not shop around in Sydney. I don't know if you would find cheaper.

TFO looks great for tiles... but looking at their website, it looks like they only do tiles? Has anyone had experience with their range (if any) of pavers?

If its for a vehicle I wouldnt even consider sand only. (My old house) My driveway has 100m2+ and gets the lot cars, small trucks, vans etc...In 12 years never cracked a paver, none chipped and its laid on a light sand screed on top of several inches of concrete. The only thing that I ensure is I get the ant sand into any ants that dig up a grain of sand.

Just to provide info for others who may be interested in pavers & to save them the trip out to TFO unless you live nearby. I checked out TFO - they have very limited selection of pavers. I think they mainly do tiles (as their name suggests :). They had some natural stone pavers - but I am after clay or concrete pavers, which I think are more practical option. They didn't have any of these at all :(
