It's only a great investment if you can afford to buy there. I can't, so how does it help me? o_O

No? He has just implied myself and Darlinghurst boy should be lovers or something just because of Darkinghurst Boys Jewish photograph I assume.

There is definitely something wrong with your heads

Long term (say 20 years) we may see the same congestion as Sydney so wouldn't it make sense to live closer to the Stirling station? Or is their a high frequency bus route near South Karrinyup?... could always just sail or kayak to work if you live in that pocket close to the beach :)

So who's buying/looking in Perth now or has done so very recently? And where did you buy (suburb that is)?

As mentioned previously, I'm looking to go unconditional soon on a purchase in Craigie.

Trying to settle on a site in Yokine but have some finance difficulties. I was not aware you wont get LMI if you dont get B&P inspection and you write 'Demo' all over the contract :-(

I am looking in Perth and Melbourne(but am worried that I am too close to the peak). Still not that many desperate vendors in Perth. A few with good value but probably too much competition in my price bracket ($600k to $1M). There's been at least a 10% drop in the last 8 months but still no signs of stability in this quarter. What seemed like a bargain just 3 months ago seems like a "dull" deal today.

Looking at inner-metro and Mosman park and surroundings.

What do you guys think of Merriwa and surrounds? Its close-ish to Quinn Rocks..a bit like Craigie is to Mullaloo but a cheaper price point.

Would you opt for Rockingham (non beach side) before Merriwa?

Is Quinn 'Rocks' an actual swimmable/nice beach?

Merriwa does not have the best of reputation. It has pockets that look older than they truly are. It will hopefully have an upswing when the freeway goes through.

Quinn Rocks beach is pretty nice.

I always wondered about Merriwa as well. It sure does have stigma and has to share the train station in Butler or Clarkson but both those suburbs have done really well. Merriwa is also in some kinda weird valley shape but has good bargains out there and it didn't grow much in the last cycle so do your DD.

I've just decided to terminate a purchase (potential triplex site) in Craigie on account of finance :(If anyone is ready to go finance wise and looking for a decently priced, developable site in Craigie feel free to PM me asap.

    Valuation/LMI issue? Or Servicing issue?

Its a long convoluted story but a combo of LMI and servicing. Nothing to do with the property itself.
