I want to buy an investment house and finally, use that house for my retirement after 25 years. We love Gold Coast. I wanted to ask you what is the best suburb in Gold Coast to buy a property. I don't care about good schools but I care about investment so that it can go for rent. Also, I can put that house to Air BnB. I don't want to buy an apartment or townhouse since I don't want to pay body corps? I don't care about good schools since it is for tourism or my retirement purpose.

If you have 25 years, buy where you think has the best capital gains prospects, sell after 25 years and buy on the gc to retire?

    Sydney? Gold Coast?
Firstly, the only houses I know of that are under $300k in the Gold Coast are either on one of the islands, like Stradbroke, an over 50's village or a caravan park. Secondly, if you are looking for something specific log onto www.realestate.com.au and do a search.

No houses for that. Go to Logan or a house. Beenleigh or Eagleby.

Closest house like place in GC is a low set villa (townhouse) Southport or Labrador. Low 300s

Are you going to do mortgage? The more money you invest, the more you get back

I just did a search online and not 1 house for $300k or under showed up.
I think you’ll need another $1-2 hundred thousand or get an apartment/townhouse.
To get a good return on the Air bnb you’ll need to be near the water and local attractions and make sure you’re allowed to offer it as short term holiday accommodation.

Forget about buying something for $300k to live in in 25 years time. You won't want to live in something that costs $300k. Good tourism areas demand much more than that for a house.
Buy a great investment and instead. In 15-20 years time reassess.
