Following up on this thread @LifesGood

We did Tassie in Dec, Adelaide in Jan, need a break again  (late June)
    (Did Bali 2014&16, Thailand 2015)

Somewhere warm maybe , suggestions not OTT on cost

Why is it I can book Eventhouse/Rydges Cronulla Sydney for the same cost as a "nice" place in the back of Tonga o_O
Is the Aussie dollar THAT BAD

All depends on what you are into.
Monkia mia is basically 'feed the dolphins' though the area is quite spectacular. I could lose a good couple of days between denham and monkey Mia. Especially if you have a 4wd.
For something different why not book a few nights at dirk hartog?

If your not that well set up for camping a leisurely drive north stopping at Geraldton, Kalbarri, carnarvon, denham/MM and ultimately up to exmouth would be a couple of weeks well spent in my opinion.
If you are set up for camping stoping in at some of the coastal stations is well worth the effort.

Monkey mia is a tourist trap!
Hire a camper van and see everywhere around there though, we did money mia i was changing a nappy during "feeding time". After that hired a kyak and had dolphons swimming passed us playing around. A billion times better! :D

It's am awesome coast but massive! We saw 50+ turtles "going at it" off the exmouth coast, very cool to see so many turtles and no one else around

Exmouth would be nice if you like snorkelling. Even if you're just standing on the beach the fish swim up And check you out. Pretty cool. Friendly place.
