My wife has given the green light for me to take a break before going back to work.

Where should I go? I will take off next week and go for 7-10 days.

Amazing place! Sossusvlei is out of this world. Etosha is incredible too. I'm going back to visit when my kids are older.

@LifesGood - how much are you willing to spend? I assume you want to stay in Oz?

    Cheers

Need to know what your criteria is, what do you like doing, what's your budget, flying or driving? Do you like city or countryside, what's on your bucket list? If it was me, agree with the others, I'd go Africa but tell us more about you...

Budget not an issue...without going too mental...overseas is fine.

I was thinking maybe Japan? Also considered keeping it in Aus but im open to anything.

I don't like lazing around. I prefer to hit the road and explore on foot.

+1 here... love Japan. Great place for a 7-10 day holiday.

If you're after something less refined & adventurous fly to Bangkok, Thailand & travel overland to Phnom Penh, Cambodia via Siem Reap. A great way to spend a week. Was there last month!

If you like to keep active and want to explore on foot, maybe @wombat777 can suggest something. I know he's well travelled and has done some trekking. He was in Kashmir recently.

Lord Howe Island would be a good option for a short semi-active break. Lots to do there. Haven't been there myself yet but it is on my bucket list.

Go to Japan. I also like Taiwan too. Though it's currently Typhoon season there. So maybe go there another time...
