How much passive income are you looking at achieving?
I ask because you mention you are building number 5 then buying another 7-10 while also working for another 10-12 years?

Oh there will be plenty of those. Especially in the United Centre - we're sitting front row (behind the media) on the baseline at two of the Bulls games :)

    Cheers

By the time we buy the farm I've mentioned before, and pay down our debt, we're hoping to end up both retired with a passive income of $150-$200k + an income stream from the farm and still hold our shares for a rainy day.

Like I've said, we don't have a crystal ball. Interest rates may rise. Legislation may change. My wife might get to 55 with a bee in her bonnet about still making a difference and work until she is 65. She may have enough of the system at 52. We don't like to nail things down too solidly; we only get disappointed about wavering from that plan when we do something impulsive.

    Love this thread!

For me I still haven't figured out where i'd like to base myself for retirement. Like others have said, my retirement will be filled with a lot of travel.

But for Australia I'd love to have one base property on either the south or north coast of NSW, and then perhaps a weekender in FNQLD, Melbourne, or Hobart.

Internationally with my partner being from Brazil I'd also love to have a place in Northern Brazil on the beach. Something we can airbnb-out when we aren't there, or enjoy when we are. Thinking Perhambuco or Porto De Galinhas.

The Japan talk inspired me though.. I'd love to be greedy and have a cottage in the Japanese countryside, perhaps up in Sapporo somewhere, who knows.

I won't be living in any country that outlaws same-sex relationships, both on principal and on practicality. So I guess the Islamic Asian counties are a no, though I do enjoy visiting them!

You are probably already booked, but we stay at Snow Crystal and I would highly recommend it.

I didn't want to wait till I'm retired to move to my dream location so I moved here 2 years ago. Why wait to do something when you can make it happen now.

Just bought our Australian retirement property, hobby farm near Melbourne, and will inherit European retirement property. Plan to share time between two continents

Awesome - as with Jamie we expect photos! (I used to love the travel pics on SS from Apex and other members, for those of us with wanderlust and it appears there are a few)

I agree - if D Rose could learn to play more like Wade he'd be better off. He still tries to rely on his speed/athleticism. He really needs to slow it down a bit - and be more crafty. Look to distribute more, shoot less 3's and get better mid range looks (seems to love a good elbow bank shot)

Good idea, I'm off to the Greek Islands.
I wonder how to get my mail redirected.
