    Some of the big names from Somersoft I miss are:
    • The_Wife - her cheeky stories about innovative investing strategies and thinking outside the square were legendary
    • Michael Croft - his value renovation and innovative techniques for extracting the most value out of a property were incredibly valuable
    • Les - one of the SS originals and always good value
    • GeeCee - was a regular at early meetups in Sydney
    I'm not sure what they are doing now.

    Michael Croft is a primary producer. This article is from 2012, where he's as happy as a pig in sheets. He was producing beef at the time as well. There's another short reference from last week for the same.

    The last I heard from The Wife was six years ago, where she had to be rescued from a fundraising two week hike.

    Les was in the old forum right up until the end, but doesn't appear to have made the transition.

    The others I think disappeared before the switchover.

    AceyDeucy is one former member who I still see from time to time.

    Fully Lucky has not entertained us this past year. I wonder if he ever completed his temple.

    So Sim, why dont you flick an email to Jan and/or Ian Somers, and, assuming you are not privy to their contact details, ask Jan and/or Ian to contact them, so we can all see if they would grace us with a post?.

    I'm sure Dazz could not resist a political spray (sorry, observation) given the forthcoming election, and some of your flock may enjoy the nostalgia.

    He has been asked. All of the old crowd were given the opportunity to pass over.

    Fair enough, @geoffw and much appreciated. What a shame that Dazz didn't offer us all the opportunity to experience and/or critique his opinion.

    Though he may resist the urge to return, the coming election should galvanise his resolve to return, especially as I have heard that Clive's UAP will nationalise any WA shopping centres.

    I think Dazz got stung by comments he'd made in the forum being revealed in the press during the campaign. That's the sort of thing which may discourage people from coming back.

    I heard that he'd put up his hand in 2016.

    There are even more recent members & posters who've dropped out of late:

    @Xenia

    @DaveM

    They seem to have slowed right down or stopped posting

    @DaveM is still about. He was posting last week about alcolic horses or something.

    The other two haven't posted for many months.

    All run small businesses and all are very busy.

    @DaveM comes to Sydney meetups more frequently than you do @Scott No Mates - even though he now lives in Adelaide :p

    I'd seen @DaveM post last week but overall he's been quiet. Adelaide must be booming.

    I think he has horses now. That's worse than having kids, I believe!

    I'm not sure that's who you meant?

    @Sailor has never posted and was last seen only 4 days after they joined.

    I was thinking of Sailor from SS who was doing up a place in Cairns overlooking the ocean I think. I don't think she ever posted over here though.
