    I drive a Forester.
I've also got a Toyota 86 that gets driven on average once a month for the odd short trip.

Barrington tops is a nice place. Haven't been up there for years. We used to holiday up there a lot when I was younger. Can't wait to go back.

My driver picks us up in a 200series land cruiser.

If I ever own a car again it would probably be a cruiser for long trips.

I love the tesla as well. But at $150k is a struggle to get my head around.
@sanj - if you are serious check them out overseas. As always considerably cheaper. Just need to try and find one in the UK so you don't need to do a conversion.

I think if it was painted like the Scooby Doo truck I wouldn't need 'free candy' on the side.

Some central locking and power windows are a must for the next one!

Pffft I would scrape the rims parking it and cry if I own that. I was just being facetious that I need a Bentley so I can be like him. I'm such a stirrer.

    How many?

How far does a full charge get you? If it's less than a few hundred ks then it's useless.

    Free?

Not sure I could tolerate 1.5hrs at service station.

A full charge gets you about 400-500kms. Depending on a few factors.

At the moment there are only a handful of charging stations on the eastern sea board.
20-30 mins at the charging station gets you to 75-80% charge. Yes. Free of charge.

Nice vehicles and I dare say will prove to be a 'game changer' however he still has a lot of hurdles to jump. Especially the political mines which are being dropped in front of him.

Ive already answered above, around 500 or so kms.

you don't have to tolerate waiting at a charging station. you can leave it to charge and monitor the battery levels remotely via an app on your phone and come back when u have enough charge.

this same app can also allow you to start the aircon remotely should it be hot or allow a friend access remotely say if you've left your keys somewhere.

Elon musk recently said that his goal is for the technology to offer the ability for you to summon your car from say LA to you if you happened to be in LA, all within 2 to 3 years. based on his past performance I certainly wouldn't bet against him

Yeah im a few months away from making a decision but will explore all options. imo it is actually pretty good value, there's a lot of car for the money.

it's also future proof in many ways, eg they all come with sim cards and free data for 4 years. all upgrades are done remotely so sometimes you'll go to bed one day and wake up the next with new features.

tech is changing so rapidly atm in almost all sectors, cars included and with almost anything else buying something now would mean needing to sell and upgrade in a few years to take advantage of whatever new tech is available at the time.

a once a year recommended inspection but no servicing whatsoever, you only change tyres and brake pads.

it's also a really nice car to sit in, not all just smoke and mirrors.

wouldn't want to spend 150k but ultimately it's just money innit. if after so many years of running businesses and investing if i cant afford 150k on something I really want (I'd have to love it in order to pay so much) then I might need to look for a new career path
