I drive a 10 year old UTE. Son drives a 3 year old UTE. Wife drives a Nissan Patrol top of the line but 15 years old. We will be updating the wifes car soon to a ........UTE. I really hate paying FBT.

    All UTE's are dual cabs.

    Simply not into cars.

yep, but fortunately it has a backup engine, and the charger is small and light enough to carry with you.

    Cheers,

Very well! The electric assist just gives you that little boost along - lately I have been setting it not not actually assist while I am pedaling, but use the thumb throttle when taking off from lights/stop signs, crossing roads, etc while loaded. This while mostly riding on the flat though. With a load, going up a hill, the assist is well worth it!

    Cheers,
    Inertia.

Do you know what sort of torque it has - or whatever rating they use?
Can you change gears as you're going up hill?

The motor is a Bafang BBS01, and from the manual it says a max torque of >= 80Nm. Not sure how that compares with others, but it certainly assists when taking off with a load on the back.

You can change gears while under power, but it has a sensor on the gear cable and removes power during gear shift to reduce wear.

    Cheers,
    Inertia.
