In all honesty, my favorite fast food (is it "convenience food"?) is (and I do this even when we do food court meet up with friends if I don't BYO):

    • roast chicken from Coles/Woolies - by far the best value. A whole chicken can cost less than a plat of fried noodles in a lot of shopping centres (a 1 litre bottle of soda water at 75 cents to wash down - or actually splurge on a decent cup of coffee :p)
    • Potato/Coleslaw prepacks from Coles/Woolies
    • Can of baked beans (serious - I also travel with this stuff although it weighs a ton) - but not the Aldi one (cheap but too thin - get what you pay for sometimes...)

For roast chickens, Costco is great. $6 for a 1.4kg chook.

They don't have stuffing though. Which meant I had to go elsewhere. When I asked my wife what sort of chicken she wanted me to buy, she told me to get stuffed.

I would not eat any of those franchise junks if they were the only thing remaining after the Apocalypse.

Convenience foods = bananas, cashews, almonds. 9 grains vita weat, real cheese off a block.

    Aren't I boring :)

Ok, so I was away form home last week and had a can of baked beans with me, and there was a stove, so I did have it hot! Decadent luxury...... :D (although I refuse to nuke my food.... )

@Gen-Y - This is a junk food thread from pre covid days.... the days when nobody had any issues of going to a restaurant to have food! :) Whats your favorite/hated junk food? [Food & Dining]

These are more like $9.50 now! Huge price increase within about 4 years. Just like house prices pre and post Covid really.....
