Hmmm.... not too sure about this. Not that cycling specific clothing is lycra these days (I think spandex?). In any case, I used to regularly ride 200km rides on the weekend and I would not like to see the results of doing that in the wrong clothes. I reckon you could end up in hospital. I had enough trouble with chafing when wearing the proper gear.

I have gone off cycling now. Foot issues.

There's a new invention called shorts and t-shirts.
I can ride all day in them. AND I can go into shops without shame ;)

I try to hold my breath for a long as possible, submerg myself as deep as I can before turning blue, then attemp to return to a single atmosphere all the while attempting to relax with an aim of not blacking out.

Its very enjoyable and quite relaxing. Plus I get to wear a rubber suit so tight I need to use some form of lube to get into it.

You think you get 'looks' walking around in lycra - try walking into a chemist and asking for the 1l bottle of KY.

Swim 3 times a week. Backstroke was my strongest as a teen and still is now.

Haven't been to any of them yet.
I've been to the Annette Kellerman aquatic centre.
The Goodlife Gym in the City has one too.

It only took me 2 months, and 6 years, to get the hang off it. The first 6 years was the cycle sitting in the garage unused.

You only need three things to learn the basics (which is all I know)
    - a long wall to hang on to,
    - You Tube videos with kids showing how easy it is to learn,
    - no sense of embarrassment

    Spend a $100 and have a go :)

Some protective equipment couldn't hurt either.
Those wrist guards would probably come in handy.

    Lol.

Ride all day without lycra. If you do, then, you sir, are in for a treat.
