After today's returns in the stock market I was feeling generous and going to ship over a bottle of Chris Ringland Shiraz 2007 to my best pal in Brissy ...but after that comment....NO Ringland for you! :p

After today's returns in the stock market I was feeling generous and going to ship a dozen bottles of Penfolds Grange 1990 to my best pal in Sydney ...but after that post....NO Grange for you! :p.

Cancelled the courier just in time. Might crack one of those bottles tonight in memory of a good-old investing buddy :D.

With the current interest rates, it is an amazing opportunity to buy a good property in Sydney and Melbourne if you can afford it. Maybe that's why everybody is joining?

Normally when most people get into the market, I find, are when prices are flying. I remember 2012 was a great buy in Melb and at the time many smart brains (like doctors, soon to be partners at top firms etc) all said it’ll crash more. They all bought in 2017-18....

Patience and knowing when to show your hand are the number one things in real estate. Took me a few years to find the right property, at the right price, at the right time in the cycle. Then I had to fend off the competition. Often when it seems like a good time to buy, nobody’s selling.

    I agree :)

There are trouble makers and then there are trouble haters. The later is very ugly. There is one person on here inparticular who makes a habit of teasing/laughing at/makes sarcastic comments to folks who may have lost money or have hit challening times etc. I personally can't think of anything else as ugly and low as kicking someone when they are down.

Precisely. I'll never fully understand it. Best I can come up with is that these individuals greatly lack self-esteem and confidence within themselves and get some kind of a self gratification payoff by beating down others.

For me it's the excessive time I have on my hands. It's an opportunity to gain some knowledge while everyone else watches TikTok's and shares posts on Facebook. Thankfully all the newbies posting has made it possible for me to sit back and not be one of the annoying ones, instead being able to observe and read through all the input :D
