My two cents worth to this "discussion".

Good healthy debate in this forum should be 100% encouraged as it challenges our thinking on said topic and just may open up our mind to another train of thought.

To me if you feel the need to attack the person than you may need to question the strength of your argument....

The mods turned a blind eye to this bigotry and bullying. What if we posted messages condemning Jews or gays without naming individual people, would that be tolerated?

The funny thing is, these people assume that the "lefties" would never be able to work hard to buy IPs. How many times have I read things like...lefties wouldn't know because they'd never own IP. I confound them, because I have 4.5 and a fully paid off PPOR and I'm really not even trying.

    HA!

Political "bullying" was mostly directed at the beliefs and not the person directly.

I will strongly disagree with some things which are made about things political, but I won't take it personally unless it's directed as such. some people though are very passionate about their brand of politics, whatever side it is, and can't see that it's possible that anybody could disagree with them. It can get personal for them.

However anything which is personal shouldn't be tolerated, however, if the mods aren't made aware of it, they won't know about it. Report.

So I can post a rant about Jews can I? And that will be acceptable?

By all means defend your rights and beliefs but what makes your ideology the "absolute"

Why do we feel the need to be in the right?

Can we not just listen to the other points of view, absorb what we will from the discussion, agree to disagree and move on without our ego's telling us its our way or the highway!!

Healthy debate all day long, but in the end you can't change the unchangeable!

Don't waste your energy on trying to change people, believe me its not worth it.

And that is why I am glad a banned user hasn't slunk his way over here as yet. Because he always made it about the individual, not the politics.

I agree, I think the mods need to be made aware whenever the conduct is inappropriate. Though once a pattern is formed it wont be hard for others on the forum to see this, which is what has happened in my case.

There are also many business members that join this forum to promote/build their business and in the main they are great and add value to the forum. Those who want to insult, bully are obviously not too bright, and deserve no business and to be named.

I don't think anyone on the forum should tolerate this.

    Redwing thanks

Basically the 3 forum members behaving inappropriately have backed off.

I even had one I believe pm Me as another user name, not too bright.
All operate businesses and have sourced clients from this forum, unbelievable.

Anyway I am quite over it and hopefully it won't happen to anyone else.

I just want to remind everyone that if you feel that posts made on the forum or private conversations you are sent are inappropriate, then please use the Report function to alert the moderators.

If you feel the matter is particularly serious, please use the Contact form to contact support.

Wow...who are they....they should be named and shamed!

PMing with abuse is out of line...cowards really...if they can't say it in the forum then don't say it.

Pm was not abusive and won't elaborate, other to say that this nonsense has now stopped thankfully.

Forum in General is great and most people on forum are here to help, learn and share. All good now:)

I was answering your question! :p

Let me see if I can find the transcript:

    Jul 08 20:42:53 <Hodge> thank you sir
Jul 08 20:44:36 <Hodge> sorry one more question, do you have power to kick someone off the chatroom?
Jul 08 20:45:32 * SimonHampel has kicked Hodge from #property (SimonHampel)

Everyone using a full IRC client (as opposed to the Mibbit web client) has auto-rejoin enabled, so kicks don't really have any effect on those people.
