What's ahead? No crystal ball. The probability of further growth is more likely than not imo.

With that budget I'd look to buy the best middle-ring/close ripple suburb to middle-ring OO home you can afford with some add value ability. Keep it simple.

Brissy and Gold Coast will come together into a metropolis. Ipswich will amalgamate with the mega city.

Population will grow beyond Sydney and Melbourne COMBINED.

A New CBD will be develop. Between Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Ispwich. It will contain the biggest tower in Aus. It will DWARF Sydney.

The new CBD will be built over the Logan Section of the Railway to the coast. Between Woodridge and Loganlea.

Haven't decided on the name yet. But there is no actual location called 'Logan' so that is a logical name. Don't u think?

Please contribute your preferred name for the new SEQ City.

I think Keperra is good value given Mitchelton is going gangbuster at the moment.

    Something like this looks solid, but under offer already;

69 Silvertop Street, Keperra, Qld 4054

    May be this one, so close to Mitchelton;

15 Wendover Street, Keperra, Qld 4054

Cant be bothered reading the entire article but one thing is certain - Brisbane is going to continue to grow long after Sydney and Melb settle down and plateau. I'm almost certain of it.

Its just simply soooo affordable still and in many places offer great family houses still under $800k. Hardly anything in Sydney under this price bracket unless you want to live in a tiny 2 bedroom unit under 100sqm and most likely very old as well if your buying in premium suburbs.

Brisbane is just catching up from its 10-15 year sleep and its about time!!!. Its still got a long way to go to even come anywhere near where Sydney is and honestly from personal experience from having lived in both cities Brisbane is awesome.

As I get older as well the Sydney/Melb cold weather is killing me. I've even had thoughts now myself of moving back to Brisbane. I could buy myself a mansion up there is just relax and if I was a young family I'd be seriously looking at moving up there.

There is no way a young family on single income, couple of kids and stay at home dad or mom could ever get ahead in Sydney. Its just insanely expensive. Even to buy 50km-60km+ out of the CBD its crazy prices now.

I guess many ppl are seeing what I am seeing and hence why massive influx of ppl moving to BNE and vacancy rates under 1% in many areas (well I think in all areas now).

Most of these suburbs (apart from Keperra and Chermside West) have moved over 70% in the current cycle.

I would personally keep an eye on the following suburbs instead (Don't take my word for it, as I have not looked at Brisbane for a while and probably won't be buying in Brisbane as the market has already moved quite a bit):

    • Annerley (56.6%)

    • Darra (39.6%)

    • Carseldine (47.8%)
    • Strathpine (47.3%)
    • Warner (34.2%)

    • Crestmead (28.7%)
    • Hillcrest (31.9%)

    • Goodna (16.9%)
    • Camira (38.8%) - Perhaps has the best demographics in that area, apart from Brookwater

    • Dinmore (8.9%) -> These two suburbs are closer to Brisbane and have train stations but tend to be low socioeconomic
    • Bundamba (18%)

    • Sadliers Crossing (33.2%) -> Seems to be one of the better suburbs in Ipswich
    • Newtown (25.8%)
    • East Ipswich (17.9%)
    • Eastern Heights (23.7%)

Not sure if I should touch the followings but I know lots of people would:
    • Woodridge (27.2%)
    • Kingston (26.6%)
    • Inala (38.7%)

I assumed you were going to provide a URL. Perhaps my use of the word place was incorrect. I spend too much time online it seems.

I have a data science assignment that I want to do on property but I don't really have the money to pay for core logic data.
Was thinking to scrape it of other sites.

Just search the suburbs on Google. With some investigating most of the information is there.

You can use RP Data. For Brisbane the previous bottom happened around 2010 so using the 10 year data on RP Data Pro (mobile version) -> Market Statistics -> Suburb would suffice.

Also I believe Property Director gives you 40 years of data on suburb median price.

With RP Data you can get up to 30 years and then extrapolate. I haven’t spent time looking into doing this but was planning to do it at some point…

yeah for most parts of Sydney, most houses are truly well beyond affordable for a single income family, even if that income is in the regular 6 figure ball park. ..
