Inflation means money loses value, so a debt will decrease as the money that makes it up loses value.

Right , understand you now. Yes we are in low inflation environment and your analogy is correct. It's very scary for an economy to go into inflation. Leaving assets aside, the principle risk is that people stop spending money because what they want is going to get cheaper if they just wait.

But bear in mind inflation/deflation rates quoted are aggragates. it's quite possible to have say, consumer goods deflation, consumer stables deflation, assets inflation, luxury goods inflation, etc. We can have plenty of money but no velocity in the "spending" sectors leading to broad deflation, while investment assets increase.

Thanks for this. Interesting Brisbane is fairly average over that time, even at medium growth rates increasing 40k a year, we will be 2065 before Brisbane hits the current Melbourne population!

Yes it will be interesting to see what the population will actually reach, time will tell....;)?
BRI differs from MEL and SYD also in where people actually decide to live, not all settle within BRI, there are those other regions.
Also, IMO, most not all that move to BRI currently are slightly older to downsize, hence older age predictions living there in time.

Yeah but what exactly is Parra doing right now? F.All the CBD has barely expanded over the past 10 years.
But QLD is much bigger than NSW or VIC, 7m people spread out doesn't have the same effect.
