    Thanks Simon - interesting reading.
Some things don't change - crash is coming, Brisbane about to boom, hotspots & banks.

Surprised though by the lack of chat / topics on Vic given the boom.
Maybe everyone buying there was keeping quiet about it on PC?

Don't forget that this was nearly 2 years ago - back then there wasn't much chatter about Melbourne in the media either. Not sure there was a lot happening until last year?

Would it be that the reason is there are relatively few Forumites who are from Melb, and hence not many were looking at Melb as a place to invest?

The traffic on the site largely follows population breakdown - so more people visit the site from Sydney than Melbourne ... but Melbourne is definitely 2nd.

We do have disproportionately more people visiting from Sydney than any other city - which I think is fairly easily explained:
    1. much larger population
    2. higher average income (more specifically - there would be more people with higher surplus income available for investing in real estate)
    3. property has been performing well (ie better than other states)
I think if Melbourne property had been going crazy, the visit traffic from there (and correspondingly, the number of threads about Melbourne) would be a lot higher.
