What types of development require approval?

    New to property and have a question around converting a 3x1 house to 4x2. Do I need approval or can I just do it? What are the types of development that would constitute approval and not? Also why is needed approval needed since you the land?

    Is this in WA?

    You will need to check with local council if you need development approval (sometimes required for extensions) or just a building permit (for construction works over a certain dollar amount and or certain other reasons).
