    Just curious if anyone can tell from the photo, what type of a tree is this?

    Maybe a Mallee Gum but hard to say without being able to see leaves or what the flowers look like

    The App, PlantSnap, can help identify plants - you take a picture and it tries to identify it.

    However, I've had mixed success with it - about 50% of the time, one of the options given appears correct. It doesn't perform as well on Australian plants. There are free and paid versions available.

    I think @Scott No Mates might be correct. I did download PlantSnap as suggested by @geoffw and it recognised it as Brushbox.
