Whaaaaaat? That's ridiculous. I got one last week 7km over, and was $127. I fired my chaffeur over it.

You should have taken the rolls that day and not the bentley. Bentleys have much more power and go fast.

    @Tyler Durden and @pugstar205

Thanks for the Eat Street Market tip, got there at 5 via Theodore St, just left and it's crazy! The footpaths all the way out are lined with people heading in, glad we got there early!

I was at the West End markets last weekend. Was a great surprise only a short walk from the cbd.

I live going for a morning run through the cbd and across the bridge to southbank. There's a quirky little coffee cart and lots of people out and about. I like it more every time I'm up there

We're back now but it was an action packed whirlwind visit. Can't wait to go back, especially to Southbank with the kids.

My wife pointed it out that the fine was for corporate users and it was issued to the hire car company. They'll reissue and resend it to us, hopefully it'll be closer to $127

Yep, that sounds more like it @eng. It's a simple process; just nominate your wife on the back of the fine and return it. :D

I got done in December on Oxley Ave, Redcliffe - racing between open homes.
    69 in a 60. $157 + 1 point (fine said less than 13ks over).
First one ever (been driving since 1994). Happy with that.
Reasonable punishment and I've learn't my lesson. :D

Thats why I always take the tom-Tom preloaded with the latest map & redlight camera updates for situations such as these. Unfortunately I was trying to follow an agent when we got snapped.

Grew up in Brisbane, moved to Melbourne 22 years ago. Just went up to visit parents who have moved to Scarborough and was blown away with Redcliffe and surrounds. We were discussing how our opinions of Redcliffe back in the day were probably unfairly based on our love affair with the sunny coast (can't really compare the 2) but my lordy, what a beautiful area to possibly live. I know its a fair way out, but so lovely. Have you decided on an area to invest in yet??

We ended up purchasing in Warner. It wasn't really an area on our radar initially but a decent yield property came up and there's a good amount of new infrastructure going in so we bought it :)

For your next trip I suggest a visit to Mount Tambourine. Beer at St Bernard's pub and lunch at one of the cafe's/restaurants.

We're on the Gold Coast in a few weeks but have 4 kids under 8 with us and no car so we are limited on where we can go. Would like to take the kids to streets beach if we get a chance

I was in Sydney for easter. Im one of the many Brisbanites who would prefer to live in Sydney but those house prices.....one day...

Agree that Bne is a good liveable city though. Needs more green along the river and cbd to add long term value (imagine a Riverside expressway along the yarra by the cbd or running along the front of Sydney Harbor.)
Planning is bringing in jobs but done without consideration to aesthetics and natural features and public space.
One day that expressway will go underground hopefully.
    Enough negative.
I've noticed the change in bne for sure. It's much more sophisticated than before and I do agree is quite undervalued presently. But it's got nothing on the harbor and beaches and historic houses and greenness of Sydney imo.

Absolutely...pop on a 25 minute ferry from Cleveland to stunning North Stradbroke island. Constant flow of buses meet the ferry on the island side and you can go everywhere. The Gorge walk at Point Lookout and beaches are amazing and at Amity Point the dolphins come in at 4 30 (wild ones) to play for an hour and its free. Cylinder beach is great for kids. Bus stops at all these places
