when i rented a place with number 13 in sydney, i moved around to all parts of cities, on job ofcourse so kind of a working holiday. Just to give you an idea, its from syd to melb to perth to brisbane to goldcoast to canberra in about two years. As i was consulting, and bachelor, lived of the suitcase. Had a ball but eventually got tired and settled in canberra for a while.

So when I looked at a place with the same number to buy as IP, it was on the back of my mind so to speak. When the property was settled, got a termination notice next day from big blue. with a golden handshake ofcourse. Now got a job in sydney and feeling deja vu. From numbers point, its exactly 13 years since i left sydney.

you can bet that i wont be buying houses with 13 again any time soon :)

So, what superstitions do you believe in?

According to Superstition, if you say 'Bloody Mary' three times...

...you'll be served three horrible drinks.

Speaking of number "13"... We just removed an apartment to get total number apartments to 12..

We had choice of 12a or escape 13 and just number it 14.

Local REA suggested..number 13 apartment will be hard to sell.

Let's see. IP 1 with number 42 on it has the most issues. My PPOR with 3 lucky number lining up in the right way has the best growth.
So maybe Chinese lucky numbers do work

No superstitions here. I'm a very scientifically inclined person and believe that knowledge disperses superstitions.
We now know that thunder doesn't mean that god is angry, we know that fosillised dinosaur are not dragons but are relatives of birds instead, we know that sickness isn't due to the humors being out of balance and that there are very few illnesses that can be cured by bloodletting.

However in a world where so much information is so easily available, it's very frustrating to see how many people choose to live in ignorance instead!

    How about Feng Shui? :p
Many of the recommendations are mainly about a good design/ flow so the house doesn't feel stuffy. People with superstition believe it's for something else but it doens't mean they don't work ;)

Our current home number on the street is 8. I am hoping that even ever I sell it in the future that it will attract some crazy Chinese dude who is all about the lucky 8's

    No superstitions at all.

Just coincidence that all my properties are odd numbered though :p

Just looked at mine and the same for all the IP's including the ones that we sold throughout the years. Our PPOR's have always been even.

You have me pondering on this now.

I guess the thing is that people that believe in superstitions don't believe them to be superstitions.
I'm sure there's religious people on this site, yet I haven't heard religion mentioned yet.

Of all my IPs, the one with number 13 has performed the best.

We once looked at a place numbered 666. The agent had a sense of humour and kept making ghost noises. We didn't buy it, but pretty sure a developer did.

Then again, I have no proof that D.T. actually exists either.

I don't believe that any numbers, black cats , ladders, umbrellas, walking on cracks on the pavement, spilling salt or tossing it over the shoulder, broken mirrors, horse shoe, bird poo landing on your head, lighting 3 cigarettes with one match, crossing fingers, four leafed clover, itchy palm, rabbit's foot or wishing on a star can have anything to do with our fate.

Hope I'm right .........knock on wood
