What should councillor's drive

    Sorry, to clarify, the car allowance is 65k. Salary I believe is 45k with another 85k in allowances. I assume the car is part of this allowance. Overall a package of 130k for the mayor of perths biggest council is not over the top imo.

    Not sure of CEOs pay but it would definitely be higher. That's not an elected role though so commercial rates would have to be paid to get the right candidate

    Agreed. Plenty of useless middle management all over this country, both in private and public sector get similar for doing much more insignificant roles

    Ah! yep; $130k - more like what you'd expect for the role.

    Brisbane city council's lord mayor gets a salary of $300k+. Ordinary councillors get $195k and $240k if they chair a committee. But with a population of over 1 million and a budget of over $3 billion, perhaps they deserve it.
