Here are a few......feel free to add to the list or vent.... if you like...

    • Unreasonable demands and vague expectations
    • Management through domination, anger or stress
    • Reluctant to offer praise
    • Bad breath? that is a total Deal breaker...Yikes

Making promises or coming to agreements and then not delivering is a deal breaker for me.

    Unstable moods.
    Reluctant to delegate.
    Micromanaging.
    Talking behind your back.
Badmouthing their employees to you (these people are your colleagues)
Any type of yelling or emotional outbursts.

If you can not manage your emotions you probably should not be a BOSS

Good boss for one can be a bad boss for another, e.g. due to mismatching personality and work style

Those with unstable moods can still be good boss if they know how not to lash it on everyone else

I have worked in organisations where managers were selected based on their seniority, not their ability to do the job.

A good boss will have their staff's back no matter what. I was once accused of misconduct at and organisation. My boss had my back although he didn't know what I had or had not done. I was investigated and found to have done nothing wrong. Not long after that the person who tried to have me fired was quietly asked to leave. I appreciated my boss had my back and it turned out he was right to do so.

A terrible boss is someone who:

Doesn't pull you up for being late.
Doesn't worry if your doing your work
Doesn't hold you accountable for any decisions
    Gives you endless annual leave
    Doesn't communicate much with you
Pays you overtime even when you really didn't do much
Hands out promotions willy nilly, rarely based on merit.

Positions are now open , all welcome to apply. Go to www. nsw.gov.au.

Hubby's last boss was guilty of most of those. Add, hold you accountable for HIS poor decisions.

Needless to say, he was VERY happy to quit.

Definitely add that to the list of bad bosses. Those who don't take responsibility for their decisions.

I think my partner would agree with you, when he was operating his business had one employee stealing, another trying to claim workers compensation for an injury that did not occur in the workplace. Then there were those who required a psychologist, and to top it all the Irish that came to work drunk on Mondays.

Who really wants to have a business where you need to manage people....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    The trouble is:

If you have a business where you are the only employee, then you don't have a business; you have a job.
