    Hi all,

The heating elements on this have cracked, so needs a replacement.

Undecided whether to replace the entire unit, or just the elements (if that's even possible).

I've been searching for replacement units, but can't find anything as I'm not sure what exactly this combo is called.

    Anyone have any ideas?

And is it possible to just replace the elements if need be? And approx cost?

    Mike

Elevated stove/oven or side by side oven/stove: Appliances Online

A repair person will be able to tell you if parts are available - possibly over the phone if you have the model and brand.

Looks like a Roden. Pretty common around 1960's but were still around as per Joynz. (My inlaws used to have one years ago.)

Probably cheaper to get a freestanding range and put a cupboard next to it (or get some new joinery and put in an underbench/stovetop combo and some benchspace.

It’s an elevated stove. I have one!

Not sure what you mean by “heating elements have cracked”. From the photo it looks like there are four individual heating coils on the stove part? If so, they are easily replaced by a stove repairer.

Mine has the ceramic hot plates - ones large glass panel covering the four elements. Recently one element failed but we were able to have it repaired. Cost around $200 from memory.

I just googled “stove repairs” and my suburb in Brisbane.

Yeah it's the stovetop coils that are cracked.

They should be easily removed from memory, if they lift up slightly and you can then pull them out as its held in by two prongs.
The other type you undo two screws on the side. lift the white panel with elements and it may have a screw holding in the prongs before you can pull them out.

Take the model info and the element to the local repairer and they will match one for you and install it yourself.

Yours will be much easier to replace.

Each element should swing up (so you can clean the drip tray underneath). Remove as alreaby said ^^^

Expect to pay around $100 for each new element.

    Thanks guys,
Property is in Brisbane, so as easy as they are to replace, I won't be able to do it myself.
The PM has engaged someone to replace for me.

At least I now know that they can be replaced, and will be a quarter of the cost of replacing the whole unit.
