What is the point of editing photos to this level?

    Those edited/unedited remind me of some selfie photos I've seen, from associates (or even more distant) - where the edited photo looks absolutely nothing like real life except for the outline of the face

    My pet hate is travel/destination photos where the colour is intensified to a ridiculous level.
