As property investment is so important in creating wealth. a lot of times people wanting to invest don't know the right questions to ask. They often get told other people's, strategies, or success stories and failures that are just other people's narratives. Not only is every person's motivation different, but each financial situation is unique.

    So what is important?

The presenter of the course should have photos of him/herself standing by a Ferrari.

In a suit that doesnt fit well. Ideally with white sox visible and pointy leather shoes and stubble from a two day growth. Hang on that may confuse everyone since its the school uniform of real estate.

Seriously, whats important is knowledge. Its often freely available and doesnt need major financial commitment. Knowledge can also be provided by great relationships with a broker, tax adviser and others. Propertychat etc. Some choose a buyers agent and others dont. Many property education courses peddle the same story. I have never ever seen someone in the industry suggest its the wrong time to buy and more than one property is always a better strategy after the first.

Different things are important to different people.

There is no “one size fits all” so most “gurus” are only peddling what they can sell.

As always, do your own research. Read forums like this. You will soon pick the “names” whose posts consistently add value. Read books. Go to open homes. Talk to the agents. Talk to a mortgage broker. Ask questions….

And if anyone tells you they have a sure-fire system that cannot fail….run!
