This article is only about events leading up to the talks. We know the talks happened. What is in question is whether anything has been achieved for the longer term. There's been very little actually happen so far - except a promise (similar to previous promises already broken) that something will happen sometime.

But NK doesn't belong in this thread.

On trade wars and international relations, what else has happened?
.Relations with Canada have been strained
.Relations with Mexico are almost broken
.There's problems with the relationship with Britain, Germany and France
.Other treaties and trade agreements have been unilaterally broken. The US can no longer be trusted.

In the plus side, the US appears to be getting closer to Russia.

This is typical of the narrative you get in elite main stream media, of course we wont ever agree. His kicking goals and the left are not coping with this at all.

Back to tariffs time will tell, lets see if it works, its early days.
Of course he will ruffle fearhers, they dont want things to change.

Do you have anything to say which actually addresses what I've raised, rather than resorting to Trumpisms? Despite what you've been told by Foxnews, media which gives a point of view which disagrees with Trump is not fake news.

I inturn ask you Whether you have anything to add other than what you have been told/read elite media, left biased, anti trump?

So lets respect and accept we have different views and that is OK, we can disagree

I am interested on the outcome not interested in the person. There will be pain but lets see whether it works, early days

I agree that allies getting upset, thats a given, they dont want change

Name one single goal he is kicking? With factual links to back it up.

What I think you will find that the rest of us are reading are middle of the road, unbiased, factual and proven documentation ... from many sources ... not simply listening to Fox or loitering on Fandom pages (which has been proven, even on here, to be extremely Trump biased)

No - we won't agree whilst you've got your orange coloured glasses on and blinkered hormones racing

By your definition, anything I raise will be anti-Trump, and therefore not acceptable to you.

I read a lot of news sources, from a number of different countries and a lot of different news organisations. I try to be as broad as possible with what I read. Yet by your criteria, it will be unacceptable if it goes against your viewpoint. Anything that's not Fox (and possibly Breitbart) is fake news.

I don't have any paid newspaper subscriptions, so I don't read the Australian or the AFR. For the same reason, I don't read NYT or WaPo.

Left-biased? Many of the news sources are normally right of centre, or a little left. Many of those newspapers have become anti-Trump despite conservatism otherwise.

But for any Trump supporter, anything that isn't wildly sycophantic about him is left wing, fake news, propaganda. So anything I raise from any non-sycophant source will just be rejected as biased.

I'm confused. Before you posted an article saying that Trump was doing the wrong thing in imposing tariffs. Now you're saying, wait and see.

    Really?
Its too early to know whether trumps strategy will work

I am not against tariffs, as I mentioned its not an even playing field. They all need to work together

Seeing you asked. This is the stuff you don't read about in elite mainstream media.

There are too many, but for starters google US economy, its on fire.
Unemployment lowest in I think last 20 years.
Manufacturers coming back to US.... Apple for one

    Just in case
Economists agree: Trump, not Obama, gets credit for economy

However, I don't want this thread to go down the evil Trump madness road, lets just stick to topic of tariffs, that way thread wont get deleted.

Again - have you actually read the article past the first paragraph:

"Trump bears some of the blame for this. He mocked the media, called journalists "the enemy of the people," and went to Washington with much vulgar bragging, essentially promising he'd kick the political establishment right in the private parts. And telling the Russians that former FBI director James Comey is a "nut job" doesn't help.

And now the establishment kicks back."
