Well - he is quickly making the US allies very angry at implementing the "tariffs due to threat to national security" clause

Trump likely to meet some US allies very angry over tariffs at the G7 summit in Canada

and Australia will definitely not get off scott free, as those allies are also our allies and what affects them will affect us - especially if the entire world is thrust into a recession (or worse) as predicted by analysing past history by the UN "and" the World Bank

World Bank warns trade tensions could cause 2008-level crisis

The US is not on the end of "bad" deals - it's simply living beyond it's means and spending in areas that are not benefiting the economy as a whole (tax cuts to companies lead to shareholder bonuses, share buy backs and loss of jobs) ... they also have to be careful that the rest of the world just "get on" with the job by bypassing the USA - and the USA will become more isolated - already strongly talked about that the G7 will become the G6 plus one outsider.

No leader is forever, Macron says as 'G6' gears up to confront Trump

The US doesn't need the EU. Will be interesting to see what happens at the G7. Trump will probably ask the G7 Members to increase their funding to NATO

where else the richest people in the world (most billinairs in the states) gonna buy their cars and watches, (no one makes money buying vintage planes)

All your PP,VP,AP,A&S, ferrari porsches, lambos.. the vintage.. the real expensive stuff.. its all european man..and we haven't mention fashion.

seriously tho.. dont the EU (collectively) beat china as USA no.1 trade partner.

I think it's more a case of the EU (and Canada and the rest of the world) doesn't need the US anymore.

Anyhow - after boasting that he was ready for his Kim meeting, apparently Trump is leaving the G7 early (after a twitter spat with Macron and Trudeau) to "prepare" and missing the important trade and climate change talks.

Not sure about alienating your allies - and coddling with your enemies - is supposed to be in the script:

Trump Shakes Up World Stage in Break With U.S. Allies

There is some chatter online regarding workers fears in the USA regarding the tariffs - especially in Texas - but as I can't find an independent source, I'll refrain for linking to those more extreme

You have to get your priorities right.
If he can sort out the issue with North Korea , he might be in line for a Nobel Prize.
Although there is a bit of expense required to fit his ego through all the doorways of the White House and Air Force One.

China is preparing for war. They have already got the South Sea islands and peppered them with Military bases, they are now getting ready in the Pacific with our neighbours by taking over the ports and other important infrastructure from Island nations such as Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea etc..

US industry is not ready, EU is not ready, Australia is not ready. This is a new cold war.

The article is behind a paywall.

Trump has threatened the company will be taxed like never before.

But company which has a big market in Europe shouldn't be forced to absorb both the increase in prices of imported materials and increases in prices caused by increased tariffs caused by a trade war outside their control.

The trade war was short sighted, and this is an early casualty. I suspect there will be more.
