Well that seems spot on to me. Although someone born in 1946 probably has a case that they should be included. But that definition gets the thumbs up from me :)

I like the graph, picky about the dates, BUT i have an idea.

To spice it up could we have a graphic that contains the same information BUT is a based on a hill. And therefore implies the year in which the generations are considered OVER the said hill, the heroic (silent) generation are definitely over the hill, the boomers will never admit it ..... but are they slightly over the hill? X are summitting (I am X) the others are climbing the hill.

Ha, i was always X in all definitions.

But my older sibling (boomer in EVERY way but age) would argue the point.

    Great idea...

The only thing I could find online that's vaguely similar is this graph, showing GenX at the top of household expenditure in 2016 in the US.

Otherwise the Boomers are still holding most of the wealth.

I voted boomer and there is still a lot of hills to climb ..
At least the boomers would know full well that you don't become a multi millionaire and learn the secrets in only 2 hours for $69-95 .

You see why I have said in the past.
Baby boomer have the most wealth growth. Because alot of policy are target for their demography.
Millennial aren't even weighted the same.
Pound for Pound - Winner is Baby Boomer.
The graphs gradient rise is greater for that age bracket.

Not wanting to be morbid, but they won't live forever - there will be a massive intergenerational wealth transfer at some point. Unless they spend it all... which to be honest they should if you ask me... enjoy their hard work.

Not saying they shouldn't deserve to have that wealth if they have earned it.
But when you have policies that target that age bracket. They are the least group that need help for a leg up.
You can see the previous Silence Generation - they didn't have the same level of support and it shows in the graph. FOR WHATEVER REASON - baby boomer have been.

I am being fair dinkum about this issue.
I give you a perfect example - my parents are laughing about how they get the senior cards.
    What the heck is that.

I think as an X I will share responsibility for ABBA.

But i recently saw some old fogies on a stage belting out some Coles ads sounding sounds. Are they boomers, and what were they called before they became grey?

Go @Gen-Y i think Gen-Y feel the wrath of Boomers more keenly than others. Are they children of boomers? My parents were born in '30s so i think they are the heroic ppl.

I thought the heroic people were those who fought in the WW1 and WW2?

So those born in the 30s (my parents too) are the children of that demographic. That's my understanding anyway.

Is the Heroic Generation the same as the Greatest Generation?

    From this graph:

There is no doubt that the heroic generation takes their name from the people who fought in the those two wars, and they are the true heroes. Recently there has been a move to write more women into history (nurses, factory workers, mothers) and people who didn't directly fight (home guard, territorials, internationals, irish, police, even politicians!).

My mum and dad had **** bombed out of them, were rationed and their families were ripped apart by the carnage. They were children of WW1 vets, but were victims of WW2.

So yes, to your point, certainly correct.

I just like my dear parents being part of heroic generation, because i think they lived the frugal life, never spoke about their childhood / teen experiences, and were very generous in views of previous enemies.

I am on the border of Gen X and Millennials.. I think I deserve to eat a bit more Avocado toasts and start blaming previous generations for at least some of my problems.
