    I used gmail for a while but didn't like it at all. I went back to Hotmail (now outlook.com) because I like it much better.

    You mean the UI?

    I can't stand the Gmail UI - but I almost never use it, so it's not a problem. I've never used any of the other platforms, so I can't comment.

    Yes, I mean the UI. It's atrocious! The outlook.com UI is far superior. I mostly use email through the web. I occasionally post using Android's Email app.

    I've used FastMail - based here in Melbourne - for years and cannot fault it. Not free but plans start at just US$30 a year - I'm on professional, mail from multiple domains all nicely handled with correct reply to addresses etc. Pricing | FastMail

    +1 gmail but with Thunderbird IMAP access for desktop
    Both my Apple & Android devices also have no problem accessing gmail with their email apps too.

    Worst case, I think telegrams might be spam free and a last resort fall-back...

    Yeah Sim, I thought you'd like that.

    At least give me credit for not lowering the bar and going to Teepees and smoke signals...
