Dunno if a similar thread's existed on PC before. If so, please point me to it (I couldn't locate it).

So.. what does your handle mean?

I'll start. Mine's the nickname I was given when I worked at ANZ several years ago. A colleague and I lived in the SW suburbs. All other colleagues were either SE in or Eastern suburbs. They called me and the other guy - the Westies. We weren't from the wild west (Sunshine/St Albans etc) but the name had a nice ring to it and I kept it. I run a consulting business now and my close customers call me Westie. I love it!

George Smiley is the fictional character pictured in my avatar played by Gary Oldman in the film 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' which I absolutely loved. Based on the 1974 British spy novel of the same name.

Mine is the suburb that I did my first ever development in. I joined Somersoft to ask a question about the development and couldn't think of a username so used the suburb. It's stuck ever since. I considered changing it to my company name when we moved to PropertyChat but decided that everyone knew me as Westminster so kept it

Used to have an idiot supervisor who would dish out the days tasks to everyone, then proceed to go around at least a second time to check and clarify (mostly for himself I think) what everyone was doing for the day

Id get my task and head off, every day he'd end up calling after me "Chris, Chris" (while I ignored him and kept walking) :p

So I got the original nickname of Kristofferson (after the American singer songwriter Kris Kristofferson), this was soon abbreviated to Stoffo and 30 years later....

So the first name in mine is....... my first name and the second is........ well my second name :).

This is pretty much the only forum I go by my real name. Everywhere else online I am known as Blade Hunter which is the fictional protagonist from a game I loved back in 1990 called Rise Of The Dragon.

I burried some poor sap in a shallow grave and assumed his identity.

Funny you should ask but all so similar story to @Dan Donoghue.

I come from a long line of 'Nö Mateš' (pronounced Nooooooo Maiteeze - of Scottish heritage but with the original Saxon accent).

Little Rabbit. It's a common nick name here. Also mine. However, xiao in non-Hanzi form can be read as laughing or small as you can't see the difference.

    I completely lack imagination.

When I came into the original Somers forum with the same name, Geoff Doidge (one of the Reno Kings) was a frequent contributor. He was quite annoyed that this rank beginner was being confused with him, so he had his username change to Geoff1.
