    I concur. My perception is that this operation takes advantage of desperate sellers and poorly educated "wrappees". My views on options (which I expect Mr Otton incorporates into the transaction) are they are tools for the type A I don't want to work but I want all the money types to scam poorly educated or not legally represented people.

    I think the main problem with Otton's techniques is that he's teaching people how to be 'middlemen' in the process, not really buy a house (for $1 or more).

    Being a middleman means that if something goes wrong (on the vendor's and/or buyer's side), the middleman walks away with his (partial) profit.

    That's not how we do it. When we wanted to sell 'rent to own', we first bought the property outright, then sold it on terms to the buyer. Everyone is happy :)
