Fascinating that we have builders ripping off New Home Buyers this amount on a regular basis and it doesn’t make the news.
1,000s of slabs have been poured not to Australian Standards.
Australia’s worst builder has gone on to build two more tower blocks and is still a licensed builder without any redress to clients.
Strata managers who work for the big builders are spending millions on entertaining their builder friends at football matches with naming rights to football teams and football stadiums.
Unfortunately corruption is huge in the building industry as no one is there to do the investigative hard work and the profits are too large for everyone except the buyer.

Funny, none of the articles seem to complain about Melissa Caddick's fees. Seems a bit unusual when a bunch of money has been lost, vis a vis "She charged us $X and now it's/scammed/stolen etc.."
One only wonders what those fees were, as the reporting doesn't seem to cover this aspect.

Melissa Caddick inquest: Anthony Koletti ‘evasive, vague’ and ‘sweating profusely’ after reporting disappearance

The inquest heard that late on the evening of that same Friday, Koletti rang police in an “agitated and frantic state” to say he’d found a footprint near the cliffs and he believed they could be his wife’s.

Kyneur told the inquest that the footprint Koletti was so excited about finding was in the local dog park.

How could he possibly know that she was at the cliffs based upon some random footprint? I can't even describe my partner's sneakers without first studying them, let alone recognising the tread on the sole. Gotta be more to this.
