To travel with our children whilst they are still young (primary/secondary school) except 1 who is now a Doctor & working.
As a child, both my Wife & I only read of travel/places of interest overseas in National Geo or in encyclopedias.
To watch our young one's experience it with us both has had us tear up on more than a few occasions.
Travel & the experiences it brings is a wonderful thing, especially with family.

Has anyone admitted to the important things in life: loose women and inkohole? (& a shiny treadly).

... Or loose men. Let's not be exclusive here.

An octopus might have an inkahole.

Dog walking gear is top priority eg. footwear, hat, leads, collars, sunburn cream. Cars, gadgets, holidays, furniture and special events with any spare change.

For us other than mandatory work expenses our money goes on school fees (I pray everyday that this will be a good investment, fingers crossed), we go overseas to SE Asia 2-3 times a year, but we go cheap budget airlines, but stay in nice resorts. Other than that I have my 80c coles express cappuccinos now (stopped my cafe ones as I got sick of throwing money away), groceries, and bills. Only go out for dinner maybe 8 times a year, hardly ever go out for breakfast, do have takeaway dinner once every 1.5 weeks. Hardly shop as it doesn't interest me, except I do go all out for Xmas and birthdays and splurge

A mate of mine tried to tell his wife she was saving on housekeeping due to the free fish he caught from his boat

Bad Mistake! . . . She started to cost the fish based on tow car fuel, boat fuel, insurance, boat licence, outboard servicing etc . . . .very soon she was up to $80/kg and still counting when he called enough.

Spend all my money on women and wine...the rest I waste.

(heard that years ago and still love it)

No major expenses here, but nowhere near goals yet.

Do spend big $ on spoiling my nieces when I see them, things for our rescue animals (currently have 12 furry kids) and animal donations, plus partner and I pick something each on a monthly basis to go and do together e.g. a concert, a Mardi Gras event, etc.

And coffee :). All the coffee.

Travel, eating out (probably too much), coffee.

Don't spend a whole lot of money on "stuff" - mostly just on experiences. Don't ask me how much I just spent on bball tickets in the US

Circuit racing and development for the cars.
Recently sold the last track car that cost me at least $2k per track day + mods + fuel + R&D + licences + rego + ect. Easily a $30k p.a. expense that I hang to get back into once the PPOR is paid out.

$80/kg is still only market rate for top fish. So he's break even at this point

I've never calculated the cost on per kg basis. However I once calculated it on a per hour of entertainment value. For the period it was coming it at about $6/hr However I was significantly biased in my favor to ensure I won the argument

They say a boat costs about $1,000/ft/year in repairs and maintenance alone. Over the long term it is a remarkably accurate estimate.
And this barely changes with or without usage (it's probably slightly less if used regularly).
