This we didn't set out to do:
Our IP due to its location, always had international students. Young rich naive. When they left there are many stuff left behind: half wrongly assembled IKEA wardrobe, huge new Mickey Mouse toy, foreign juicer, kitchen stuff and anything else you can think of including some useless stuff. In the last ten years we have collected heaps, and gave away or sold one item. They couldn't bring them back and asked whether they can leave behind.....o_O

Fortunately with the properties we manage we have been successful in being strong. Always only handover totally cleanout. There's the occasional 'help me I don't want this piece of furniture' but quite rare now. Phew!

Date nights on a Tuesday- $2 hot dogs in the soda factory, $1 dumplings near oxford street, cheap movie tickets and etc. At least, it's an opportunity to spend time with the significant other and at a fraction of the price.

Some op shops sell used, clean underwear. But it has to be in 'as new' condition.

If in doubt, however, don't donate it as dumping of unsaleable goods is a huge cost to op shops - costing millions...and causing real problems for them.

I used to know of a guy who would never take his wallet on a first date so the girl would have to pay. He wasn't willing to pay incase the date was a dud lol. He took tight ass to a new level.

O man, that's really tight. To be fair, in my younger days I did get a girl to pay for a date once because the ATM sucked my only ATM card to pay for the meal. Was tempted to ask Uncle Charles to come and bail me out as he was in the area but didn't want to as it wasn't a serious relationship.

What annoys me though are girls who think that the guy should pay for absolutely everything ,every time. The selfishness and entitlement of that type... I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

Or more extreme one who orders lobster for entree, crayfish for main and scallops for desert and expects the guy to pay.

I guess it all depends on the circumstances. How the date invitation was worded etc. If I was 80 dating a 20yr old I'd expect to pay.

A rather frugal colleague mentioned that he always goes 2c over when filling his car...

Just so they have to round it down.

This only works paying cash though. Credit cards charge the exact cents.

I'll repeat some car tips from a while ago.
.Windscreen wipers use battery power. Don't use them.
.Lights are worse. Disconnect car lighting, indicators and brake lights.
.Get your date to push the car for a bit.

Cheap wine and a three day growth.

Cheap Wine from graysonline.com.au I often win them at $9 per dozen. Quality is similar to $10-$15 bottles at Dans. My savings usually get spent on expensive wine.

Three day growth because I am lazy.

@SeafordSunshine I'm thinking it may be Della Hyde on Oxford St.... have done this a few Tuesdays after work with my daughter as she works nearby however catch is that it's only one day a week (well last time we went anyway) and you DO have to purchase a drink (even if an overpriced $3 glass of water) so just be aware....
