Sounds interesting, Just checked it out

"Co-founder Matt Hill sums it up best: ‘Clearly we were unemployable. To the outside that meant we were losers with juvenile hobbies and no future. To us, it meant not following a conventional life path. We wanted a grown-up life that would match our teen lives: optimistic, innovative and fun. Turns out when you band people together with that “**** convention” mentality, it’s a powerful, creative and inspiring force"

Reminds me of a Jim rohn quote "dream like a child, plan like an adult "

The Four Hour Work Week - Tim Ferris

For those that like Lee Child, you will probably also enjoy Mathew Reilly's books.

Recently wrapped up The Obstacle Is the Way - by Ryan Holiday. Was great. Nothing new but very good refresher.

Half way through Mindset - by Carol Dweck. Also great, also nothing new but good refresher.

    Both recommended.

Carol Dweck did some interesting research with kids regarding; praising effort vs ability (referenced in the book I've just finished - nurture shock) basically, kids praised for the effort they put into a task will more likely choose a harder task next time vs kids praised for ability, who will choose a task similar in difficulty to their previous task.

Yep, some of this is covered in the book. Very valuable information.

Wow so much diversity in reading choice! I tend to have 2-3 books on the go at once and these holidays have been reading:

The Secret Chord- Geraldine Brooks (great writer of traditional historical epics- this one's about King David)
Home Truths - Mandy Nolan (funny as and explores the meaning of what "home" is)
Natural Born Keller - Amanda Keller (her autobiography which is funny, poignant and very witty- just like her)

Nothing nicer than reading a few chapters (or ten) whilst on the beach, by the pool or at night before drifting off to sleep. One of my all time favourite things to do :)

Highly recommend, just some different perspectives! My only gripe is it's just too dam big a book to take to bed to read!

The Rise and Fall of Australia. How a great nation lost its way. By BBC correspondent Nick Bryant. Very interesting read so far. A tad left wing though.

The Australian Victories in France in 1918. John Monash. I recently finished Roland Perry's biography and wanted to know more. Still reading this one as well but fascinating so far.

Right now, Tim Winton's Cloudstreet. Previously, Isabel Allende's The Japanese Lover. Prior to that, Virgil's The Aeneid.

I have never read anything by Lee Child. have to check these out. Read most of Mathew Reilly's and similar style would be Andy McDermott.
