    Another of those thread :)

Not the usual - freedom - travel - perusing hobbies

The little stuff - the really really little stuff

Personally I'm really looking forward to not living my life by the alarm clock - sleeping until I'm ready to get up instead of hubby's alarm going off at 5.45am - followed by mine at 6.30am ... the alarm going off for the school pickup ... the alarm going off to take the teen to work and then pick up ...

    No alarms :D

    No Alarms - yes please!!!!!!!!

Our alarm usually goes off before 5:30 and I don't have to leave for work until after 8

I guess the question is what is retirement? .. I have been reading sites like this one for a long time ,and study the people who are multi millionaires and they keep working ""Why""..I never will be retired as investment for me now days is pure entertainment as you can control your businesses ,but you have very little control with the anxiety experienced with day to day liquid investments..

I'd love to say no alarm, but even without electronic alarm I have a furry one that pounce my face every morning once it hits certain time, sometimes before my alarm at 5:30 rings

It's actually almost always the little stuff. I can usually tackle the bigger stuff like travel through annual leave.

If there's list it will be:
Wake up naturally (doggy alarm is natural), and sleep again when I feel like it
Wake up then blankly wondering what to do for the day
More cuddle with the dogs, and more walkies

@Lizzie I think the biggest change for me was when the youngest left high school. That whole morning rush disappeared.

Yes - I spent 2 hours a day in the car doing school runs as there is no bus service where we are ... so much extra time during the holidays!

@willair - "retirement" is a choice to work if you want to. I don't think intelligent people every really retire, they just change direction and priorities.

Just not having to schedule stuff around work.

I train 6 days/week and now do it in the middle of the day instead of early mornings or late evening. Sucks even more in winter.
I drop my daughter to school and pick her up, take her to multiple training sessions and tutoring.
Been to watch her about 4 times this year already for school sports days and many more to come later in the year.

Not sacrificing time working for money is the best.

You need to be careful what you wish for though! I know a lot of sick and elderly people who'd love to get out of bed but can't..... Sometimes I tell myself I better get up because some day in the future I'll want to, but won't be able to without someone hauling me around :)

Or as it is said - "I hate getting up in the morning but it's far better than the alternative"!

All safe - I do love getting on with life but I am a night owl ... plod through the day ... around mid afternoon I'm feeling rather sleepy but it's inconvenient to take a nap ... sloth thru dinner ... then PING ... wide awake from around 8pm to midnight and super productive ... then the morning alarm goes off and plod thru the day ...

    Oh there are so many.......
For one, I am so glad I dont have to "beg" for my Recreation/Annual Leave anymore. Almost all my previous Supervisors have funny attitude towards me taking time off, although it's stated everywhere!

Waking up in the morning and seeing it cold, grey and rainy outside and deciding to give it a miss. Take myself to the airport without anything but the clothes I stand up in and my black no limit Visa in my wallet.

If it was up to me- yah! But for the sake of fellow travelers I might slip on the boardies and a T. I would not shave though. You can pay people to do that:)
