Got my new kitchen, which is very white

Now we are painting, Grey is the obvious choice. I want very mellow/soft

Can anyone suggest something that has worked
I am out of touch with grey colours

I like drab grey, it gives the room a 1940s post-war gloom.

Dulux Ghosting half strength. We did our home with this.

And as IP's need painting we are using this as it's a great, neutral grey. Our default colour used to be Hog Bristle for IP's but I'm over it now.

i thought you painted some of your house grey already? What did you use there?
I like Dulux Brume and have used it in quarter and half for softer tones and full strength for rooms that get a lot of light.

We had a dulux colour consultant out recently. She recommended Brume half. Ive bought the paint but not painted yet. Its not far off white.

We have a predominantly white kitchen , and used Casper white ... looks quite white in direct sunlight , and has a soft grey in any type of shade

I hope you love it as much as I do @Nemo30! I think it will surprise you when you paint it, it's definitely a beautiful closer to grey than white but does get lighter in rooms with lots of windows and light.

I use either 1/2 or 1/4 strength Linseed Dulux, goes with most greys and even wooden tones.

Internet doesn't do justice to the actual colour, IMHO. But below they used 1/2 strength, so if you want softer then 1/4 strength. upload_2021-3-8_1-7-18.png

My favourite grey is Subdue quarter (dulux). It’s a nice warm grey- personally not a fan of cool greys.

Hi, I recently painted my interiors in soft grey colour. I used vivid white on the ceilings. Then I experimented with Dulux: Highgate, lexicon, half lexicon, silver tea set, and finally I settled with summer cloud. Good luck.
