What are build costs in Melbourne today

    Hi All
    Can anyone who develops in Melbourne advise on what build costs are todsy.

    In 2016 we were looking at around $1500 per sqm today I have no idea??

    Not great, a side by side development, medium finishes totalling 32sq ~800k exc gst.

    I would go as far as saying 50% of feasos I've come across of late are losing money from day dot.

    High land cost, high build cost, soft falling market = music stopping and not enough chairs.

    Are you looking to buy/build in Melb again @MTR ?

    Recent quotes - mine are kicking out at approx 17-18k per square

    $1,500 per sqm is still possible for a very low quality build

    16k per square metre on 280m house is over 4m ?

    cannot be right.

    "Square metre" is different to "square".

    1 Square = 10ft x 10ft
    old speak, but still used eg. "how many squares?" as opposed to "how many square metres?"
