Let me start off, I'm 37.

Moved out at: 18 (midway through VCE which wasn't so smart)
Why: Long story cut short, my folks moved to Darwin.

I notice the younger generation these days are now less inclined to move out?

Moved out at 18 (just finished High School) to start work as an apprentice Telstra technician (it was the PMG in those days) in the capital city 130kms away from home.

21, moved out to get more freedom and experience supporting myself.

Over the course of the next 8 years I moved back home and out again a number of times. In total I moved 14 times in 9 years :p

Moved out at 17 to start uni - parents lived in regional area too far to reasonably commute (also, I didn't own a car, nor could I afford to run one) - so I moved to the city, boarded with someone the first year, then rented with my sister (parents paid the rent while we were at uni).

Got married at 21 (not that this stops some people from continuing to live at home with their parents!)

    Moved out at 28.

Had just completed building my PPOR and a duplex along with owning 3 other properties.

Had no reason to move out earlier, got along with my parents really well, partner at the time was studying, moving out with mates would have likely impacted both my relationship and my work.

I moved out to go to uni from a rural area.

Both our daughters moved out at 18, both had travelled extensively before 21.

One has come back for eight weeks at age 25, just to spend time with us.

I was out of the nest at 19. Love my folks a lot but needed to spread my wings early.

First moved out when I was 24 to go do the live work thing in Europe. Moved back in for a year or so when when I returned and then “finally” left home when I was about 26 ( bought my own place using FHOG),

Moved out at 23 to move interstate for work (from Adelaide to Gladstone) at the height of the mining boom.

I arrived in Gladstone when 4 bedroom houses were asking weekly rents over $700 a week. By the time I left 2.5 years later the rents were down to $450 a week. The same house I lived in was last asking for $220 a week a few months ago. I eventually moved to Brisbane after a one year contract in NZ.

I moved out just after I turned 19 - I'd finished year 12 and followed the sun to Perth - Tassie was too freezing, and Perth just happened to be the hottest city the day I booked my flight, so that's where I went! Lucky really, as I met my husband within the first week of arriving. :)

That’s my BIG goal for 2018; not long to go now :D.

Do you think a Uni will take an old, 62 year old, fart like me? ;)

Only 4 of the 14 were back home, the rest were moving from rental to rental.

21, mate bought a house and I rented a room and helped to renovate it. Renovations took a few years since it was a house consisting of 3 single guys and beers, partying and girls were the cause, solution and end result of just about anything.

Moved back home at 25 when my folks became grey nomads, bought my own place once they returned.
